About Beisembaev B.B.

The International Research and Application Conference "The High Performance Technologies of Non-Ferrous, Rare and Precious Metals Manufacturing" devoted to the metallurgy science and industry concerns and in memory of well-known scientist and Engineer of metallurgy, Corresponding Member of Academy of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan, the honoree of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bulat Baltakayevich Beisembayev is held by the JSC «Institute of Metallurgy and Ore Benefication» NCJSC «Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K.I. Satpayev», the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan on September 27 - 29, 2018, in Almaty.

Beisembayev B.B. was born on October 1, 1938 in the Georgiyevka village of Zharma district of Semipalatinsk region. In 1961, after graduating with honors from the Kazakh Mining and Metallurgical Institute, now the Kazakh National Research and Technical University named after K.I. Satpayev, he has started post-graduate studies at the Physical Chemistry Chair, headed by the Member of Academy V.D. Ponomarev.

Since 1965 to October 9, 1999 Beisembayev B.B. was engaged at the Institute of Metallurgy and Ore Benefication, where he passed from the Senior Laboratory Assistant to the Director of the Institute.

In 1965-1975 Beisembayev B.B. was substantially involved in the research work to create scientific basis and technology of joint phosphorites and off-balance high-silicon ores processing at the electro-thermal production of yellow phosphorus. First ever, the conditions of efficient vanadium, molybdenum and gold extraction from industrial products of phosphorus manufacturing have been established as a result of an intensive study of thermodynamics, kinetics and oxidation mechanism of multiphase phosphorous alloys and slags.

These years, processing technologies of Janatas quartz rocks and manganese phosphorites of Chulaktau were adopted at his direct involvement; the vanadium oxide extraction method out of industrial products of titanium-magnesium manufacturing was acquired.

In 1982, B.B. Beysembayev in co-authorship was awarded the State Prize of the Kazakh SSR for the range of activities, having a great importance for the economy development of the country.

Beisembayev B.B. made a considerable contribution to the development of a new research area – geo-technological methods of off-balance and off-grade ores of non-ferrous metals processing. The heap leaching methods were applied in relation to overburden rocks of large Aktogay and Aidarly copper deposits, gold-bearing ores of the Vasilkov’s deposit.

Beisembayev B.B. is the author of more than 250 scientific papers, including 3 monographs, 90 patents and copyright invention certificates.

He has not only preserved the scientific schools of the Institute of Metallurgy and Ore Benefication in tough times being a wise and insightful leader, but also developed the new promising scientific areas. He was a recognized scientist, well-regarded leader and a wonderful man!
