Creation of theoretical basis for innovative technologies on physico-chemical studies of metalcontaining systems under conditions of hightemperature and hydrochemical processes
Project Manager: Abdulvaliev R.A.
Relevance: In this regard, fundamental studies of the kinetics and mechanism of interaction in multicomponent metal-containing systems are relevant and will become the physical and chemical foundations for the development of effective, environmentally friendly methods of flotation, high-temperature and hydrometallurgical schemes for processing low-quality mineral and technogenic raw materials with the extraction of non-ferrous, rare and noble metals. As a result of the program implementation, the theoretical foundations of a new class of microheterogeneous emulsion reagents will be created; theoretical data on phase transformations of complex mineral formations will be obtained; phase diagrams will be constructed and thermodynamic constants of formation and evaporation of alloys based on magnesium as a modifying or alloying additive are determined. The development of new technological solutions based on the results of theoretical studies will contribute to the introduction of innovations in the metallurgical and chemical industries, increase the production of non-ferrous, rare, rare earth and precious metals, resource conservation, and environmental problems. The results of the research will increase the industrial potential of the republic in the field of metallurgical production of noble, non-ferrous, rare, rare earth, and refractory metals through the use of innovative technologies. The program will explore: the flocculation flotation method to improve the recovery of fine minerals; the effect of bio-additives on the process of leaching precious metals from low-quality raw materials; the use of organic polyhydric alcohols for the sorption extraction of niobium, lithium, and REM; kinetic regularities of the process of decomposition of non-bauxite raw materials with the production of alumina and silicate sludge; distillation processing of magnesium alloys; interaction of titanium melts with zirconates and titanates; phase formation processes and the mechanism of formation of strong calcium phosphate coatings on titanium; Physico-chemical properties of oxide systems and forms of non-ferrous metal content in them.
Project goal:Establishment of physical-chemical regularities and mechanism of interaction processes in multicomponent metal-containing systems during processing of low-quality mineral and technogenic raw materials by flocculation flotation, hydro-and pyrometallurgical methods.Receipt of new scientific knowledge the theoretical foundations of innovative,environmentally technologies for the extraction of non-ferrous,rare,and noble metals from low-quality mineral raw materials.
Objectives of the project:
Task 1 - Study of the structure of multicomponent metal-containing systems and the mechanism of interaction processes occurring in multicomponent metal-containing systems during their processing.
Task 2 - Study of the physical and chemical laws of the interaction processes occurring in multicomponent metal-containing systems during the processing of low-quality mineral and technogenic raw materials.
Task 3 - Creation of theoretical foundations for the development of innovative, environmentally friendly technologies for the extraction of non-ferrous, rare, rare earth, and precious metals from various raw materials.
Expected results:
In the course of the planned research new fundamental knowledge on the kinetics and mechanism of interaction in multicomponent metal-containing systems and the structure of solid and liquid systems will be obtained which will form the basis for the creation of innovative technologies, in particular:
- new microheterogeneous emulsion reagents based on the study of their colloid-chemical properties with multifunctional properties will be obtained;
- nano-activators and nano-depressors for effective selection of collective concentrates on dissimilar minerals will be produced;
- the method of floccular microflotation will be used to capture ultrafine valuable minerals;
- the Physico-chemical characteristics of leaching products and the structure of productive solutions were studied, kinetic patterns will be obtained and the mechanism of dissolution of metals from complex low-quality mineral raw materials will be studied, the composition of solutions and impurity components formed during leaching was studied for metal recovery parameters;
- the mechanism of a new method of hydrothermal activation of alkali earth metals oxides, allowing to determine the regularity of interaction of elements of multi-component system CaO(MgO)-Na2O(K2O)-Al2O3-SiO2 with extracting Al2O3 in solution and getting silicate product, not containing alkali and aluminum, will be established;
- On the basis of thermodynamic studies of double systems of magnesium with alloying metals, new special-purpose alloys with 2% higher strength characteristics will be created;
- physical and chemical processes occurring in plasma during reactive magnetron sputtering of calcium target and their influence on chemical and phase composition and structure of deposited calcium-phosphate coatings will be studied; based on these data, effective method of coatings of specified composition and structure should be developed. The developed method will increase the deposition rate of calcium phosphate coatings by 2-5 times and reduce the cost by 40-50% compared to existing ones;
- new data on the influence of the composition of multicomponent copper-containing systems on their properties and the presence of non-ferrous metals in them have been obtained;
- 5 articles will be published in the peer-reviewed scientific journals ranked in the second (2nd ) or third (3rd ) quartile of the Web of Science database and/or having the CiteScore of 50 (fifty) or more in the Scopus database, and at least 5 articles or reviews in the refereed foreign and/or domestic journals recommended by COXON.
