On 7 July 2023, Rinat Anvarbekovich Abdulvaliev, Head of the Alumina and Aluminium Laboratory at the Institute of Metallurgy and Enrichment, turned 75 years old. Congratulations on the anniversary!

Dear Rinat Anvarbekovich, you are known in Kazakhstan and in the world as a highly qualified specialist in the field of hydrometallurgy of light and rare metals.

For more than 50 years you have been engaged in research and development in the field of alumina, aluminium and uranium metallurgy, possessing high professional erudition and organisational skills.

You have worked in major Kazakhstani companies such as the Kazakh Republican Association Kazmetall, KATEP JSC, Tsvetmet JSC, Aluminium of Kazakhstan JSC, Transnational Corporation Kazchrome, NAC Kazatomprom CJSC, Kazakhstan-Japanese enterprise Appak LLP.

Under your supervision of the project in JSC “IMOB” Satbayev University, the unparalleled in the world Bayer-hydrogranate technology has been developed, which is a solution of complex waste-free processing of low-quality ferruginous bauxite. The technology makes it possible to reduce fuel and electricity consumption, significantly reduce harmful emissions into the atmosphere, improve labour conditions, and significantly reduce capital expenditures during the construction of the plant by eliminating the sintering process. Implementation of the new technology will provide 90 % saving of soda ash, 35 % reduction of fuel costs, 2-3 times reduction of environmentally harmful emissions and 25 % reduction of capital costs for construction of the alumina refinery with the capacity of 1.0 million tonnes. At the meeting of the First Vice-Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Kazakhstan, A.P. Rau, it was decided that it was necessary to conduct further geological studies of the Koktal bauxite deposit and pilot tests of Bayer hydrogranate technology.

Your scientific achievements, contribution to the development of research organisations are appreciated and demanded in our country. You have more than 150 scientific works, including 1 monograph and more than 30 author’s certificates.

We know you as an energetic, creative scientist, attentive colleague, a person open to new things, ready to give all his strength to serving science, searching for new approaches, sincerely interested in the prosperity of our country.

We wish you, Rinat Anvarbekovich, all the best, health, happiness, creative inspiration and new wonderful successes for the benefit of the development of metallurgical science.
