The 80-th anniversary of Kovzalenko Vyacheslav Alexandrovich
In 2020, Vyacheslav Aleksandrovich Kovzalenko is celebrating his 80th birthday.
Kovzalenko V.A. worked at the Institute of Metallurgy and Ore Beneficiation (now JSC “Institute of Metallurgy and Ore Beneficiation”) since 1971 as an engineer, senior engineer, junior researcher, senior researcher. From 2001 to 2011 he was the head of the laboratory of alumina and aluminum, from 2011 to 2017 – the leading researcher of this laboratory. In 1981 he defended his Ph.D. thesis, in 1987 he was approved in the academic rank of senior research worker – associate professor Scientific research Ph.D
Kovzalenko V.A. are devoted to the problems of complex processing of high-siliceous bauxite and other types of substandard alumina-containing and technogenic raw materials; physicochemical study of phase changes in multicomponent aluminosilicate systems.
In various years, he carried out research on the intensification of the decomposition of alkaline-aluminate solutions, the purification of solutions from various harmful impurities, the study of calcination processes, and the hydrothermal leaching of substandard bauxite.
A waste-free technology for processing ash and slag wastes has been developed, the physicochemical principles of alloying high-strength casting alloys based on the Al-Zn-Mg-Ni system have been presented, hydrochemical processing of nepheline concentrate has been carried out, studied the basics of fluoride technology for processing substandard alumina-containing raw materials.
From 2012 to 2014, he was the head of a grant project for the development of a fluoride technology for producing amorphous silica and aluminum fluoride from high-silica mineral raw materials. At the same time, he participated in the implementation of two projects of targeted scientific and technical programs as a performer.
At present, he is the responsible executor of the grant project “Development of a technology for obtaining modified liquid glass and enriched aluminum oxide concentrate in the complex processing of kaolin clays”.
Under the leadership of V.A. Kovzalenko three PhD theses were defended (2003, 2006, 2008), he participated in the preparation and defense of graduation projects of students of the metallurgical faculty of KazNTU.
At present, he is the head of master’s theses at KAZNITU, a member of the expert commission for the publication of articles and abstracts of JSC “IM&OB”.
During his work, he published 265 scientific works, including 3 patents, 12 copyright certificates of the USSR, 5 Republic of Kazakhstan prepatents and 6 innovation patents of RK. In total – 26 inventions.
159 articles and abstracts were published; 80 reports were co-authored.
Kovzalenko V.A. has experience in scientific and organizational work, is responsible for the assigned work, initiative.
From 2007 to the present, he has been performing public work – he is the chairman of the trade union committee of JSC “IM&OB”.
For industrial and social work, he was awarded medals: “Veteran of Labor” and a medal in honor of the 65th anniversary of the end of the Great Patriotic War, also, in 2015 in honor of the 70th anniversary of the formation of JSC “IM&OB”, was awarded an anniversary medal for long-term and conscientious work. Has certificates of honor, various thanks.
